Direct-Injection Molding of an Off Road Vehicle Intake Replacement Boot
Small Intake Boot
A client in the off-Roading industry came to us for a small intake boot that would be used to replace a less durable boot on a vehicle. Working closely with this client on the design, we created a boot with a bonded metal insert and injection-molded rubber that resulted in a strong connection that consistently performed under rigorous off-road conditions.We manufactured this intake boot by direct-injection molding a proprietary blended rubber material and bonding it to the metal insert. Our refined rubber-to-metal bonding process set this project above the skills of our competition and guaranteed the quality of this part. The boot had bracket dimensions of 4.668" x 3.318", a flange diameter of 2.85", and a height of 2.133". Utilizing our finishing instruments completed the manufacturing process.
