IMR utilizes injection molding, compression molding, and transfer molding. We use annual volume,
lifetime volume, rubber material, and presence of inserts to tailor manufacturing to your project needs.

Transfer Molding

The nexus between compression molding and injection molding, transfer molding is well suited for a wide range of part types and project scales. In transfer molding, a pre-weighed form of rubber is loaded into a large pot in the top plate of the mold. A plunger is then used to force the rubber through sprues into the cavities that will form the parts.

Injection Molding

Best suited for medium to high volume part manufacturing, rubber injection molding removes the need for manual loading of material. Strips of rubber are fed into an auger, which feeds a heated barrel for injecting into the cavities of the mold.

Compression Molding

Best suited for low to medium production, especially useful for molding large parts, and when expensive raw materials are used. Compression rubber molding involves loading pre-weighed forms of raw rubber into each cavity of an open mold, and then compressing the mold to vulcanize the rubber.
